Dental Implants in Oxfordshire
Chipping Norton Dental Implant Centre offers a range of treatment options for patients from across Oxfordshire and beyond who need dental implants.
Dental implants can be used to replace one, some, or all of your natural teeth, restoring both aesthetic appeal and natural action to your jaw. This creates a long-term solution with greater stability and functionality than traditional dentures or bridgework.
By choosing dental implants from our Oxfordshire clinic, you will avoid or alleviate traditional denture problems, including:
- Difficulty eating anything but soft foods
- Changes to your speech/difficulty speaking clearly
- Denture sore mouth caused by loose dentures rubbing your gums
- Negative effects on your self-confidence and social life caused by loose-fitting teeth
As well as holding your teeth firmly in place, dental implants will help to preserve the health and vitality of your jaw bone, which will shrink if the tooth roots are not replaced, altering the structure of your face and ageing appearance.
Dental implants are artificial tooth roots, which are put directly into your jaw bone under local anaesthetic at our Oxfordshire clinic. As soon as they are in position, a process called osseointegration begins, during which the implants mesh with your jaw bone. Once this process is complete, permanent new teeth will be attached to abutments on top of your implants. These may be a single crown, a bridge, or dentures.
Some patients requiring full-arch restorations at our Oxfordshire clinic can have dental implants and new teeth fitted in one day, in a procedure called All-on-4/Teeth Express. With this option, any failing teeth will be extracted, dental implants will be placed, and a functional temporary bridge attached. A permanent bridge will be fitted six months later.
People who have already experienced some bone loss are sometimes told by their own dentist that they are not suitable for implant treatment. At our Oxfordshire clinic we are often still able to help. Patients with low bone density may require an additional procedure – a bone graft or a sinus lift – to rebuild bone density prior to placing dental implants.
Chipping Norton Dental Implant Centre welcomes referrals from across Oxfordshire and beyond for complex dental implants procedures.
